Guro Nesbakken (Senior program advisor and project leader Climate Change training)

I've been working in NMAV since August 2015. Moving to Vietnam has been a great decision for me and my family. I love Vietnamese food, I love the mix of traditional and modern in this city, and I'm happy when I drive my motorbike home from the office in the warm Saigon sunset.

I work as a senior adviser and project leader. I  am responsible for a project targeting women in Tra Vinh province, to train them on climate change and which actions can be taken to be more resilient to the negative consequences of climate change. These women are already experiencing many of these negative effects on their households. We aim to reach 30 000 women by 2022. I also have a responsibility to support the monitoring and evaluation of our programs, so  we can document the results of what we do, and I sit in the senior management team. I represent NMAV as the co-chair of the Southern INGO working group. I like to work in a multicultural environment and I have great colleagues.

I have worked with international development issues for more than twenty years. First as a volunteer and later as a professional at Oslo Metropolitan University, The World Bank, UNFPA Ethiopia and Save the Children Norway. I think one of my strengths is that I have worked  for and with many different actors. I have an M.Phil degree in Multicultural and International Education from Oslo University College.
