 The reason for publishing/ using the tool:

In recent years, the issue of child sexual abuse has been increasing and is becoming gradually an matter that concerns by all countries around the world. According to a report from DOLISA in 2015, one child is sexually abused every 6 hours in average. Every year, the country reports about 1,000 cases of sexual abuse; in which children with disabilities have a higher risk of being sexual abuse than children without disabilities.

According to statistics from the National Center for Child Protection, 90% of children are abused by parents, relatives, and acquaintances. The consequences of sexual abuse are very severe and cause serious on physical, emotional, and psychological harm. However, children lack the skills to avoid and protect themselves. 

Experience using the tool:

  • This publication will be hung in the classroom or information corners of the pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools, and schools for children with disabilities in the project sites funded by NMA-V.
  • Teachers and parents can use this publication to teach children how to defense themselves.
